****STAR COMFORT
As we were just arriving back in the Netherlands, after driving most of the day from Bamberg, Germany, we were wondering where we were going to stay for the night ( Wednesday June 4). We were close to Maastricht, but that is such a big city. Then I remembered we visited Valkenburg in 2005 and I thought it was a lovely tourist town. It was already after 5:00 p.m. and we were both tired and hungry. We checked out a few hotels in the centrum, but the problem was parking and they were all very pricey. Then I spotted the HOTEL RICHE just a short walk out of the centrum, walked in and asked for a room. And yes, they had a room for us for Euro 85,00, including free parking in the rear and breakfast in the morning. This four star Hotel offers 50 lovely rooms. Ours had a balcony with a great view of the neighbourhood and the cable cars.
Unique Quality: The breakfast was amazing. Assorted breads and rolls, with meats and cheeses and jams. Hard-boiled eggs, cereals, yogurts and fruits. Coffee, tea and juices. Quite excellent spread and in their wonderful dining room.
