Today you can visit the mines they got it from.
For instance the Gemeentegrot.

hen and stag parties
Other parties are celebrating hen night or stag night. Most brides and groomes to be are dressed up and have to do silly things. While the friends are taking pictures.
At this picture a bride to be dressed as one of the duck family and a groome to be with a silly hat and board meet.
KASTEEL SCHALOEN
As Hans and I drove through the hilly countryside in South Limburg, we came across a sign that read KASTEEL SCHALOEN and decided to check it out. A tree-lined lane leads you to the fairytale-like Castle which dates back to the 13th century. It was actually a complex consisting of the castle, lovely gardens, a restaurant and accommodations. It looked pretty exclusive and probably expensive.
tapas and other snacks
This eetcafe is also serving tapas. But we only tried their sandwiches for lunch along with a good beer ofcourse.
The sandwiches were delicious, and the terrace is small but extremely well placed looking out over the centre of Valkenburg and in the sun for the entire day.
Enjoying a view from the Wilhelmina-tower
High on top of the closest hill to Valkenburg, stand proudly the tower called after former our former queen Wilhelmina. One can climb even higher to get to the top of it and enoy a view over the hills surrounding Valkenburg. The tower can be reached by chairlift and in the direct proximity there is a fairytale-forest for children. Many famous stories are put here in scenery and even turn the weary minds of adults back to the worryless childhood.
