Ideal to relax for a reasonable price
Parkhotel Rooding is situated on the border of Valkenburg in green surroundings. It is still very closeby the centre and most attractions are at walkingdistance. The hotel also offers several relaxation/massage/welness packages, that can contribute to your complete happiness during your stay in Valkenburg.

Lodging in style
It is a hotel with great tradition.
The building is by architect dr P.J.H. Cuypers from Roermond dating back to 1892. It first was a health resort for the rich and famous.
In 1895 both Queens (the 14 year old Wilhelmina and her mother the Regent-queen Emma) visited here. Later it became a hotel, untill it was bought by a group of French priests who were chased from France, they made the building into a monastery. When they left in 1939 a man from Valkenburg, Johan Rooding, bought the building to make it a hotel again.
When you enter the main hall you feel the old rich style around you, the soft carpets on the ground the colors, it is like you are a rich tourist from 100 years ago.
Recently the hotel built a new part, with 8 new rooms and a big indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness room.
We stayed in this hotel several times. Once we had a very small room, the only room left in Valkenburg, but they managed to place a second bed in there and we had a great time.
The other times we had spacious rooms with high ceilings.
Unique Quality: - The hotel is located some distance from the center, which makes it a quiet neighbourhood. But it is close enough to walk to the pubs....
- The childrens theme park Het Sprookjesbos is around the corner.
- The swimmingpool and sauna are great.
- The hotel also has its own (free) parkingplace.
Our judgement:
Good hotel for a reasonable price. Something special in an otherwise very touristy town.
