A local culinairy speciality in Bergen op Zoom is the AAA-menu. Each year from may untill the 24th of june the local products strawberries (Aardbei), anchovies (Ansjovis) and asparagus (Asperge) are cooked in the best restaurants of Bergen op Zoom.
There are special tours around the region to see the three products being taken to the restaurants and being prepared.

The Heidetuin is one of the most beautiful pieces of Bergen op Zoom. It is a park in the forrest. It has a lot of hay and some very rare trees, a artificial lake and a wonderful forrest behind it.
In the weekends it can be crowded in the woods, because it is very popular under the local people. Straight behind the Heidetuin you´ll see a large piece of forrest with beech trees and at the left side of this part there is a wonderful open area in the forrest.
Go towards Het Appeltje (see my restaurant-tip) and cross the street. Here you´ll find plate with `Heidetuin` on it.
Every summer Bergen op Zoom has its summerfestival. Every thursdaynight, in july and august, there is live music.
It all takes place in very relaxed surroundings: no entrance fees, no stands, just a big lawn, young and old, white and black, dancing together.
Every week a different band shows their skills: from rock to reggae, from jazz to merengue and from pop to blues.
The Wilhelminaveld is close to the Westersingel, the road behind the Gevangpoort. Walk to the north and you´ll automaticly hear the music.
You can make a lot of nice bicycle-tours is the area around Bergen op Zoom. There is a lot of wood, water and countryside to discover.....Please ask me if you want to. I can organize it for you !!

One of the most beautiful buidings is the town hall which is located at the Grote Markt. Also inside it's worth a visit but it's almost never open to public. I've seen it inside several times because it's also the place where couples get married.
