The old city centre was heavily bombarded during the Second World War and was almost completely destroyed. New buildings rose where old once stood. Much of the city's industrial heritage was luckily been preserved; these old buildings now stand in beautiful contrast to the modern architecture appearing in Eindhoven today.
Evoluon - Eindhoven 2003

The architect L. Ch. Kalff designed the Evoluon and i remember as a teen my friends and i really liked to visit on sundays.
(I lived 5 min. walk from it at the time.)
Opened in 1966 and closed at 1989..
Now the Evoluon Evoluon is used as a congresscenter. This picture is made by me in 2003.

Dutch LOVE their bike! They use it all the time, traveling within the city.
One of the nicest memories I have is seeing a little girl, smiling,sitting on the luggage rack on the back wheel as her dad was driving her around. You'll see that often here and I really thought it was sweet...anyways..

Dutch don't usually give tips unless they feel the service was exellent. I always kinda felt bad about it everytime..but nobody seemed to take offence..
