Hi,
I'm planning a weekend road trip on Saturday 4th Dec from Calais to Eindhoven, then Eindhoven to The Hague on Sunday 5th Dec then back to Calais in the evening. The long range weather forecast for the Netherlands doesn't look good (heavy snow on that route expected on Thursday 2nd Dec!)...Could somebody post me replies on thurs (2nd Dec) and Friday (3rd Dec) as to what the weather is like in the Netherlands...so I can make a decision about cancelling. Many thanks.

Friday 3 December: At night it the temperature is a few degrees below zero, at daytime it's a few degrees above zero.
There is a few centimeters of snow on the streets. The villages and the little streets in the cities are not yet scattered with salt and will be smooth.
At daytime it is not smooth on the highways because it's allready scattered with salt.
However you have to be carefull, espesially in the night and the early morning, and when snow just falled, it can be smooth.
Snowfall is expected for Saterday (2 cm) and Sunday (3 cm) in the Southeast.
You don't have to cancel your trip, just be prepared, bring something to clean your windows.

Thanks everybody...decided to postpone the trip this afternoon, PSV Eindhoven are playing on the weekend of 18th Dec so we'll go then instead....hopefully all the bad weather will have gone by then..biggest problem was getting to down to the English Channel...Top marks to Eurotunnel, RAC breakdown insurance and the PSV football club..all of which allowed me to change my travel dates with no charge...nice to know great service still exists!

At last on December 4th. 2003 i have visited this magnificient modern museum since the renovation.
his museum is so incredible build, an art object itself. Even without the artobjects worth a visit.
On January 17th. the Van Abbe was officially opened by the Queen of the Netherlands. On the picture the Queen and our major Mr. Welschen...(bad quality because its made with webcam from tv station)..i dont have picture yet of this renewed museum.
Architect: Abel Cahen Amsterdam.

This renovation took some years and some millions...worthwhile i think.

For excellent sportevents, International and National the place to go is this magnificient sportcentre, on the picture: the table tennis world championship 1999.
Vladimir Samsonov from Belarus on stage to get his price.
The chinese players won but for me Samsonov was the best!
