Oirschot
"Monument in het groen"
The municipality of Oirschot proudly calls itself "monument in het groen". Roughly translated that means "monument surrounded by nature". Rightly so. Oirschot itself is a small jewel, but the other villages of the municipality are worth a look as well. Although time has not stand still Oirschot still has much of the look of a typical Brabant village as it looked some 50 years ago, and the other villages still have their agricultural character.
In total the municipality has an impressive list of more than 250 protected historical buildings, many of which are farms, but there are churches, monasteries, chapels and windmills too. Even a palace!
This page is about Oirschot and the other villages of the municipality.
