Public transport from Aalsmeer to Keukenhof

by travnow

Hello - can anyone tell us how to get from Aalsmeer to Keukenhof using public transport. We know how to get to each of them independently from Amsterdam, but are unable to figure out how to get from one to the other. thanks

Hi,

use this site: http://journeyplanner.9292.nl/

This may be useful as well: http://www.keukenhof.nl/13/accessibility/

Cheers,
Dennis

Maybe it's best to go to the Schiphol Airport and take the Connexxion #58 bus there (The Keukenhof Express bus).

Hello Pijlmans and Jan and thanks for your replies.

On the Journey planner site I get this routing

From Legmeerdijk, Aalsmeer
To Emmastraat, Lisse
with a travel time between 1 hr 20 and 1 hr 42 minutes and 2 / 3 changes. Is this reasonable?

Or would it be simpler to just return to Centraal station on bus number 172 - then go to Schiphol to take bus number 58?

Pls advise. Thanks in advance

Going back to Amsterdam CS is too much back and forth.

At xx.11 just take the 172 at the Main entrance direction Amsterdam and exit at the Amstelveem bus station

At xx.43 from the Amstelveen bus station take the 300 direction Haarlem and exit at the Schiphol Plaza.

At yy.00 from the Schiphol Plaza take the 58 direction Lisse (arrival yy.34).

Travel Tips for Amsterdam

Canal Boat Tours

by Andraf

A canal tour is a great way to start viewing the city and it's probably the best approach to Amsterdam. After all the city was founded and has developed around its canals and there's nothing like a boat trip to give you a feel of Amsterdam. There are lots of places to board the canal tours, several cruise companies that run tours and many different itineraries to choose from. We took ours from across the Centraal Station, where there were boat tours departing every hour. I don't remember how much we payed but it was worth it. They had an English-speaking guide who gave good information about the city. The tour allows you to see most of the highlights of the city. It does feel a bit like mass tourism at first but as soon as you start seeing the beautiful houses that line the canals and the boat-houses and the bridges you'll start enjoying the experience.

- goto the Anne Frank House
- if you like paintings: Rijksmuseum and Vincent van Gogh Museum
- Flowermarket
- walk through 'de Jordaan' (oldest part of Amsterdam)

enjoy the relaxed atmosphere...

enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the city and its multicultural ambience. strolling in the central district is a real pleasure. This small area concentrates the most romantic channels, the most beautiful façades, the most impressives churches, the most elegant shops and the fanciest night clubs.

Morning

We got a little bit lost with our map though - and it was early morning when the sun was starting to shine a bit. We took a right (a wrong right :) and came to this fancy little corner. It had to be photographed.

we decided to head off to see more of this beautiful city..we explored for a while then decided we were both feeling kinda jet lagged so we made one last coffeeshop stop for the day. we headed off to the grey area. not expecting a seat i was shocked to find a whole row of bar seats empty, the only other people in there happened to be some guys we met at the airport on the way in to amsterdam...wow small world! i bought 2 grams of the cup entry which was suggested over the double bubblegum it was called grey haze..i also inquired about the kief i've heard so much about, john the dealer seemed shocked that i knew about it and ordered it. he told us to enjoy and gave me a bong from the collection. i knew this was gonna be interesting smoking kief hits out of the bong and hits off a spliff one of the guy's rolled with jet lag in full force! i was right, we both got trashed!!!! we needed food bad, so we went to a little place next door and ordered some fries since at that point it was all i could recognise on the dutch menu. after the much needed carbs we headed back to the b&b for a bit of sleep...did i mention that i my hands were shaking each time i approached the dealers counter today?? i still have that built in american fear of getting caught buying pot i guess. goodnight!
