Good location, comfortable accomadations
When we traveled with our friends, they made the hotel reservations. We were quite happy. Our room was comfortable and the location was superb, right near a metro stop and the Rembrandtplein. The breakfast was wonderful with so many options. The staff wasn't bending over backwards to be friendly, but they were efficient.
Unique Quality: Downside, there are bars across the canal and down the street. It was very warm while we were there. The hotel has no airconditioning, so we were faced with a choice, sweat with the windows closed, or try and sleep with the club music blaring.

Small, cozy, well located
I got a single room which was a more like a large closet. It was clean, had a nice view, the elevator worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a few minutes walk from both Rembrandt plein and Muut plein. Breakfast in the morning was very nice. Paid 70 euros for the night in March.

I only can tell you something about the distance. Rembrandtplein is across the Amstel river and down an alley.
Walking takes less than 5 minutes.

You should have no problems with Eureaka , its a nice 2/3* in a good central location. As Pieter says over the bridge (Amstel) and you are on the edge of Rembrandt Sq. I stayed there 32 years ago when it was a run down 1* ! but its been well and truely re-vamped and now has a very good reputation.
