Hotel Belga is housed in a former 17th century frame maker's mansion.
The Hotel is well equipped and offers great price/performance.
Directions: Nine little streets (closest one to the Royal Palace at the Dam square)
Great value for your money, that`s what i say.One of the better budget hotels in Amsterdam. In price u have buffet breakfast included, which ,by the way is very gooood. All rooms feature color TV, direct-dial phone with a wake-up service, working table, a personally-coded safe, a washstand and most of the rooms are with en-suite bathroom (otherwise on the corridor).
Unique Quality: Hotel Belga is a monumental mansion designed by the Rembrandt's frame makers in the 17th century and situated in the central part of town just 5 min walking distance from Dam-square.Very good location is a HUGE + for this Hotel.
Very pleasant hotel staf!!!
Directions: From DAM-square go in directions of canals or Royal Palace, between 2 canals Herengracht and Keizersgracht is Hotel Belga
So I've gotten positive responses from Hotel
Clemens, Hotel Belga and Hotel Keizershof. Which is likely the best choice for a nonsmoking solo-traveling middle-aged mom?? I will be on my way back to Milwaukee after spending Christmas with my daughter in Kenya. I'll be in A'dam the 28th and 29th of December and hope to have the stamina to run around and visit the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum in particular. Also would love thrift/second-hand shopping venues.
