cute and cosy bicycle hotel
Stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but oh well. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Free breakfast and internet access. We rented a bike for a cheap price and rode around the city all day. It's located in a quiet street near the Albert Cuyp market, which is the city's most famous day market. Loved it!
Unique Quality: This hotel has very steep and narrow staircases! My friend wasn't careful and busted his ass. oops!

I think this is the best budget option
This little hotel has charming staff, and it's in one of the nicest residential areas with plenty of eating and drinking options near by. Also very close to the lovely Saphaartipark. Such a short tram trip from the centre - you can walk it in a few minutes. Kind of irritates me that it is always given 'out of the centre' status in all the guidebooks!
Unique Quality: You can hire bikes too. Very reasonable price (for Amsterdam) around 75 euros.
