Camp on an island near Amsterdam
special atmosphere.
very popular place to camp.
big area.
beautifull sight.

Inexpensive camping
For travelers on a budget, the campground at Zeeburg is a welcome option while visiting Amsterdam. It has spaces for tent campers for as low as 4Euros a night and you can rent "cabins" (really just sheds with bunkbeds and electricity, but comfortable in fair weather) for as little as35E a night.
From Centraal Station, you can reach Zeeburg Campground by boarding Tram 14 and riding it to the end of the line at Flevopark, a natural wetland park which also has a big public swimming pool. From the tram stop at the park, you walk across a large bridge to the campground which is just beside the other end of the bridge. The area is cooled by sea breezes in the summer.
The campground also has a dining facility, a small store for convenience items, hot showers and even a bicycle rental service.

Amsterdam's campsites
Decent place, the atmosphere nicer than at the Vliegenbos campsite and the more of you live in one tent the cheaper you will pay. The disadventage is the distance from the center - inconvenient when you don't move by bike - the city communication is expensive:(
Unique Quality: You can expect great fun if you happen to stay in the evening at the campsite during the weekend-they have nice bar and organize rock concerts! You live just next to people from all over the world - fantastic experience! Maybe the facilities are higher standard on the Vliegenbos campsite, here you also need to pay for the warm shower separately but the atmosphere compensates it. I think it is safe to stay there,I have never heard of anybody having problems with stealing or whatever. There is a laundry, access to the internet and electricity - just everything you need. The staff is nice, of course you have to leave yor passport for the time of your stay, they will give you the xerox copy which you should always carry with you. YOU CANNOT STAY THERE LONGER THAN # WEEKS - at least that's how it was in 2002:)

Campgrounds in Holland
Camp is located very good. You can reach it by car from the ring way A10 at the exit S 114.
From the camp to the town you can go with the tram 14 to the Dam square that is in the centre. It has nice ambience but toalettes are not clean.
