Comfortable but with ladders!
City Hotel Amsterdam is located just a short walk away from the main city attractions area. It is a 2* hotel with basic facilities. Room rates include a continental breakfast. I stayed in a single room which was situated at the top of the hotel. The room was adequate and quite spacious for a city hotel. The room had a single bed and a small table with chair with one interior window and a small skylight-style window.
The showeroom was small but adequate for a long weekend visit.
Unique Quality: As is quite traditional in Amsterdam, this hotel is a tall, narrow building and this could well present some challenges to some guests as the anything above the first floor is accessed by stairs that are more like ladders! They are very steep so its worth getting ready for the day before breakfast and taking everything down with you so that you can head out without returning to your room.

Just five minutes walk to get the city center
Don't recommended for old people because of the stairs. It's difficult to step it up.
The breakfast is served on the table, with some cheese, ham, boiled egg, orange juice and some English bread with butter and marmalade. Coffee or tea is served as well.
