This is a 2 star hotel which is situated on the main Damrak street in Amsterdam, leading to the Dam Square.
As soon as we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. I had accidently booked an extra night, as I had not taken our overnight ferry the previous day into account. The receptionist was very understanding about this. Although we did have to pay for the lost night before, they did not charge our card for a missed night.
The room was clean and well decorated. The maid tidyed the room twice a day.
The view from the windows was of the alley and you could turn to see the Grasshopper coffee shop aswell as the path to the Red Light District.
We had our own bathroom which was very clean and well-maintained- they even gave us free shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste in case we had forgetten anything.
Although the hotel's breakfasts were very good value, the receptionist was selling water at 2 Euros per bottle. In the shops the same thing was about 70 cents.
Overall, our stay was excellent and we are trying to book there again for October!
The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from Centraal Station.
The hotel is run by some Japanese people, which is great if you're into Japanese animation and want someone to talk to about it.
Also, this hotel is very near to 'Babes and Beer' and the Red Light District. There are some coffee shops directly in the alley below.
