Fantastic Four-Star Hotel
I booked four nights in a Superior Room (a Standard Room was € 72.90 per night). The room was very relaxing, comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable and plush. The bathroom was lovely and great for bubble baths (brought my own). Good selection of movies (€ 12). There was a kettle with instant coffee and tea.
In the bar of the Eden Amsterdam (the hotels are joined), there are computers for use, but the computers crashed frequently and have limited usage.
Breakfast in the Flo Restaurant is an additional € 15 with check-in, and € 17 daily (I declined).
The hotel is off of Rembrandt Square, where a lot of night clubs and bars are located. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Awful Staff
Very unpleasant concierge service and reception are offhand! 4 internet computers didn't work. Room cleaning of poor standard. Room well appointed and location excellent. Manager pleasant. "Connexions" transport to and from airport - left us stranded and late to check in on return. Find another way to and from a hotel.
Unique Quality: Kettle in room.

Eden Rembrandt Square Hotel
Believe me this hotel is one of the best value hotel in Amsterdam..
I have been to Amsterdam at leat 10 times and mostly stayed at Swissotel Amsterdam. During my last vist, I have to arrange another hotel for the first three days due to hotel occupancy, so I choosed this hotel through the comments on Tripadvisor.
The hotel is located just off the Rembrandt square. Take care there are two Eden Rembrandt hotel. Onne of them is Best Western Eden Rembrandt and the other one is Eden Rembrandt Square, which I choosed to stay in.
You can reach the hotel by a taxi from the Centraal station ( 9 €) or by tram 4,16 and 25 which stops at Rembrandt square and walk 70 meters to the Hotel.
The hotel is a new hotel and can easily be named as a modern Hotel. The centrally located hotel gives you a good challenge to discover amsterdam and the rooms are so comfortable. The bathroom is very nice and good quality soaps, shower gels are making a long bath very enjoyable. The beds, are marvellous. I can tell that I had one of the nicest beds after so many years. The only bad part is you wont even want to wake up. All rooms are equipped with an LCD tv and more than 20 international channels and also pay tv channels.
One very good thing of the hotel is that they offer a free internet connection. There are two desktops in the lobby and wireless network. If you carry your laptop, you can easily connect and also there is an LAN connection in the room free of charge. It is not easy to find free internet connection in Amsterdam in many places.
After my stay at Eden, I passed to Swissotel again, but I suppose next time I will totally stay ar Eden..

Cheap and nice hotel
The first impression is daunting: the hotel has a small door, just right of a coffeeshop, with a small sign "RembrandtSQ" on the door glass, and a steep flight of stairs leads to the small lobby. But actually it is not bad, it has been recently renovated, the rooms are of decent size, and it is clean. You have to put up with steep and narrow stairs. A double room with shared bathroom (there are two for each floor) cost 70 Euro per night, not bad for Amsterdam standards.
I've recently returned from a 3 night mid-week break in amsterdam. We booked the eden rembrandt square hotel after reading the other reviews.
The rooms were excellent and the beds were sooooo comfortable that getting out of them each morning was a shame. I'd recomend catching the train from Schipol airport to Centraal station and then getting tram 4 or 9 that will take you to rembrandt square - the hotel is just off the square next to FLO. We made the mistake of catching a taxi from the station and getting ripped off by the driver, who charged us 20 Euro's for a 5 minute ride which should have been more like 8 euros. If you're going to do this - haggle before you get in the taxi. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel - instead there are quite a few bakeries around the square and a fansatic show next to the supermarket which sells fresh fruit salads etc
I'd recomend searching out some of the samller places to eat along the canals just off the main square - the service and quality is much better.
We couldn't fault the hotel and when ever we needed something additional i.e. ironing board, it was delivered promptly to our room. Amsterdam is a great place to walk around, we did 20 miles in 3 days! We will most definitely be going back and will stay at the eden again.
At the Rembrandt Square
by pieter_jan_v about L'Opera
L'Opera is a grand cafe at the NE-corner of the rembrandt Square in a kind of Paris cafe setting.
It has a partly covered terras and a cozy interior (first floor included).
Great lunch indoors at wooden tables.
BTW The bathrooms are managed by one of the friendliest ladies I ever encountered in Amsterdam.
Good value hotel - watch the parking!
by TripAdvisor Member TonyandEmma
We stayed at the Eden Rembrandt Square overnight in August. It's in a great position - easy for the centre and bars, whilst still quiet at night, unusual in a lot of city centre hotels. The rooms, whilst not enormous are good with really comfy beds, great shower and good facilities. The receptionists could have been friendlier but the concierge staff were all great. Our only grumble is that we parked in the car park recommended on the website on the Waterlooplein and followed their instructions to get there. The website says we will be offered a 10% discount as a guest of the hotel. We did park there and unfortunately our car was broken into and all our luggage stolen, although I am not blaming the hotel for this. Obviously we still had to pay our car park bill but when we asked for the discount at the hotel, both the receptionists and concierge said that they didn't offer a discount at the hotel and named another car park which was a greater distance away from the hotel. The Waterlooplein is not a cheap car park and although reasonably convenient to the hotel, having all your luggage stolen is not.
A great find

We stayed in the Eden Rembrandt from the 29th Aug to 1st Sept. We had booked the hotel on the internet based on reviews we read on this website. We were upgraded on arrival as we were celebrating our anniversary. The room was very comfortable, with a large, luxurious bathroom. We were very happy with the service received. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment on it. Would recommend this hotel for comfort, central location and service.
Great rooms
by TripAdvisor Member jeff1996
We originally booked via the net into the neighbouring Eden Best Western and were exteremely dispappointed. We enquired about an upgrade and were told that Best Western is located "back to back" with it's sister Hotel; The Eden Rembrandt with whom it's shares it's administration. We were handed over to the Rembrandt and were amazed at the difference between the 3 start Best Western and the 4-star Rembrandt for only an additional $40 per night. The rooms were EXTREMELY comfortable and airconditioned (a rarity for 4 star hotels in Amsterdam). The rooms appeared to have been recently refurbished. Whenever we returned after a days shopping and sight seeing, the room were always clean and neat. As regards breakfast, try avoid taking a breakfast inclusive rate. You can do far better at one of the numerous eating places throughout the city. the Hotel is well located and only 200 metres from Rembrandt Plein. Although it is a further from popular toursit places such as Leidse Plein, the red light district and Dam Sqaure remember Amsterdam is flat so walking even long distances is easy especially in a city as pretty as Amsterdam. Located about 5 min walk from the Hotel is athe city's gay area full of trendy and extremely busy bars and restaurants. Similar quality accomodation in an only slightly more central hotel will cost a lot more.
Great Hotel - Excellent Location !!!
by TripAdvisor Member BigJC
My partner and I just returned from a weeks stay at the Eden Hotel Rembrandt Square. The hotel is located just off Rembrandt Square which is an excellent location as you can walk to everything !
The hotel is brand new, the rooms are modern and very very comfortable. The beds are wonderful and the rooms have the triple glass windows so noise was not a problem.
Bathrooms are spacious but if you get a room with only a bath, there is no shower door or curtain so it can get a little wet. The hotel does not have room service so just be aware if you like your breakfast in bed.
The hotel staff is very accomodating and friendly. The concierge's are very good and helpful. I would definitely stay again at this hotel. It is an excellent product.
The hotel restaurant "FLO" is a very popular restaurant in Amsterdam and reservations are required. The staff had a little attitude one night when we went in, but having dinner there was a great experience.
Eden is a must
by TripAdvisor Member Rob&Sam
The Eden was in a great location near Rembrandt Square. This Square has plenty of restaurants & bars. It is a busy location but not as touristy as Dam Square. It is close to all the major attractions. Overall, our experience was excellent. We were able to check in by 11:30am after our overnight flight from Boston. The rooms are not huge but very typical for Europe. The beds were very comfortable, we now need to buy a feather bed! We actually had problems getting out of bed each morning. The bathrooms were very modern & well done, except for the bath/shower not having a glass enclosure. The concierge were very friendly & helpful. We did not eat in the restaurant or have the breakfast. There are so many great cafes & restaurants there is no need to spend the money at their restaurant. Amsterdam is a must & so is the Eden!

Airport to Rembrandt Square
by sjmouchy
Hello,
What is the best way to get from Schiphol Airport to Eden Rembrandt Square Hotel located next to Rembrandt Square? Is there a bus route from the airport to Rembrandt Square? Or shall we take a train and bus the rest of the way. Our flight arrives at 18:30.
Thanks so much!

That's a nice site. Very useful and easy to use. Since there are 4 of us, would it be feasible to share a taxi to our hotel?
Re: Airport to Rembrandt Square

You could opt for a mini-van shuttle service; see:

About how much would it cost to take the train or bus to Rembrandt Square?
Re: Airport to Rembrandt Square
by pieter_jan_v
Single way ticket 2nd class from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal station is € 3.70, when bought from a ticket machine.
A 1-hour once only ticket bought in the tram is € 2,60.

A huge savings over the shuttle. I wonder how easy it would be to get a taxi after 19:00? Does the tram or train stop running in the evening? If so, what time? Thanks so much for your help.

hi, all the public transportation info (including your last question about the latest running trains and trams and buses) are all in the link that pijlmans provided: http://journeyplanner.9292.nl/
When you've put in your details in that website (let's say 19.00 hrs) and you get your results, then hit the button 'Latest'. It will give you the latest possible time to get from A to B.
In case of your itinerary on a Saturday evening I see the latest possibilty at 3 am in the morning.

PJ, how much is that shuttle from your tip?
I have a tip on it too saying that it is 12 euros or 19 euros for a return, but i cannot find prices anymore on their website? If you take the return, be sure you book the shuttle with a safe time-frame, because i heard it is not always on time or leaves too early from the stops (be there on time!).
With 4 people you might as well take a taxi for that price...
Taxis after 1900 are no problem. Public transport will be cheapest probably...I would use public transport myself...
