The Flying pig
Unique Quality: LOCATION AND FRIENDLY STAFF, COOL BAR.
THE BATHROOM SUCKED THOUGH. I HAD TO TAKE SHOWERS WITH FREEZING COLD WATER. SOME GUESTS COMPLAINED ABOUT MICE IN THEIR ROOMS. THAT'S MAYBE WHY THERE WAS A SIGN INSIDE THE ROOM SAYING NOT TO KEEP ANY FOOD IN THE ROOM.
More about Flying Pig Downtown
I've been looking at Hostels in Amsterdam and I've narrowed it down to the Bulldog and the Flying Pig Downtown.
Both seem to be within the same price range and the facilities seem to be difference so my decision will be based on the opinion of people that stayed there or hearsay...whichever..
Thanks from Miami
RE: Amsterdam Hostels
I'm booked at the Flying Pig Downtown and Flying Pig Palace in June. Everybody who has been to the Bulldog says the staff is really rude, sleep is impossible and even the grass they sell is terrible. Whereas the Flying Pig is always in the Top 10 Hostels in the World polls.
If you're still unsure, go to the Bulldog for a few nights and the Pig the other few.
RE: RE: Amsterdam Hostels
The Bulldog is primarily a "coffee" shop if my memory serves me correctly. From other accounts I've heard, the hostel part is very much self service, and I too have heard of how rude and unhelpful the staff are. Weed isn't too bad there though.
