Great location for short stay
The France Hotel Amsterdam is located in the heart of Amsterdam, in a peaceful little street along a canal, it is really close to the central station so close to all transportation (tram, metro, buses), 5 min walking to Dam Square through Warmoerstraat, and 5 min to get to the famous redlight district, ideal situation...
Hotel is not big, there is a lift, normal prices are about 155 Euros for a double room (we get ours for 65 Euros /night with ratestogo.com), rooms are not 3*** like the hotel pretend but it's ok for a short stay, but be aware that some rooms doesn't have windows!
Breakfast is served in the Irish pub next door, pretty cool atmosphere and a lot of things to eat, cereals, fruits, bread, tea, coffee, eggs, bacon, etc... The area is full of chinese and thaï restaurants, there's a good italian in the same street.

My Stag Do
My first trip to Dammers and we stayed at Hotel France.
Clean rooms, a little cramped with three in a room but good location.
Unique Quality: Excellent Irish Bar right next door.
Watch out for the bar around the corner with the Action Men with Barbie Clothes on in the window, say no more.

Avoid it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It isn´t a clean hotel. The staff aren't nice. You can ear everything in the other rooms. One of my friends found bugs in his bed. It isn´t a 3 stars hotel!!!!!!!!!!! They lie! The breakfast was too poor. Avoid it!
