A decent hotel in a quieter neighborhood
Hotel Bellington is located in Museumplein near a classy shopping district of Amsterdam. It is a couple of kilometers away from Centraal station, but only a tram ride away. It is only a block from the Rijksmuseum. The rooms are reasonably priced (for Amsterdam), but the bathroom is shared. There is a sink in each room. The neighborhood is quiet at night, but the walls are pretty thin. The staff is very nice and accomadating.
Good things - nice location, cheaper, nice staff
Bad things - shared facilities, thin walls, steep stairs, no AC (so mosquitos were biting us all night with the window open).
But overall, if you're here to see the city (not to stay in a hotel) this is a nice place to stay.
Unique Quality: The best thing about the hotel is the location.
Breakfast is included.
