Nice, quiet hotel, in the centre of Amsterdam, close to Leidseplein and to the Museum Area. Quiet lcoation, rooms enough big and comfortable, good breakfast.
Hotel D'Amsterdam was the bright spot during our trip to Amsterdam. It's in a gorgeous area of town (near Vondelpark) and family run.
We arrived here after an awful, disgusting stay at a hostel in the Red Light District. The owner is extremely friendly and intent on making sure your stay is good. Our room was large, with modern facilities, and we had a balcony overlooking a beautiful, residential courtyard.
3 nights here cost 250 EURO, which is a fantastic deal. If you want to experience quiet Amsterdam and not spend your vacation fried our of your skull (drugs aren't allowed here), stay at this hotel.
Was staying for a long weekend in Amsterdam. Quiet location, my room had window to the yard. Since was winter, did not open the window - no street noise was audible. If guests speak loud or bang the doors- You hear it very well. Air conditioning unit was installed in the room.
Breakfast is with quality products, but do not expect great variety. I was satisfied.
On my second visit I had the room facing the street on the 3rd floor. It was much smaller (bathroom very tiny). You can hear the cars, but noise was not so bad. No air conditioning in this room.
Usualy small *** hotels in Amsterdam have only steep stairs to reach you room, this hotel is equiped with the elevator -very handy!
Located in a quiet residential are, just 3 blocks away from the Leidsplein. The hotel is considered 'modern' by average standard. The rooms, 8 big and 8 small, are very clean, and cosy (a little small though -- but believe me I spent some nights at the Marriott and the price was like 5 times more expensive, the rooms' sizes didn't make MUCH difference to me!!) The hotel safety is beyond expectation; Smart card (it's a key actually) and 24-hr watching cameras. The buffet breakfast is enormous! Overall I bet you'll have a great stay at this one.
