I highly reccomend Hotel La Bohame. I was there for a few days over Thanksgiving and I have no complaints. The best aspects of the hotel are the people who work there. They are glad to help you with any questions. In fact they seem to welcome it. In additon the rooms are spotless, and the matress was sooooooooo comfortable. Even the guy who cleans the bathrooms was friendly. If you have never been to Amsterdam, you must understand that all moderatly priced hotel rooms are pretty small, so don't expect a huge room, but it is more than ample. The people who run the hotel seem to take great pride in their work. Lastly it is in a great area. Nearly everything is a 10 minute walk away, and the main party area is around the block, but don't worry you don't hear any noise late at night.
very clean, wireless internet, great mattress, and friendly, helpfull staff. And it couldn't be in a better area Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageDirections: Leidisplan(I am sure I spelled it wrong)

 | Hotel La Boheme Amsterdam: Clean and basic

single room with shared facilities by Ruri15 La Boheme is located in Leidseplein, a great central location in Amsterdam. The area is very safe and always busy with people. My room at La Boheme was basic but clean, and worth the price of cleanliness, location, and the friendliness of the hotel staff (not to mention the included breakfast). I got a single room with shared facilities (a clean enough toilet and shower were shared between 3 rooms). Initially, I was worried about safety because it is on the ground floor (or basement, depending on how you look at it), but the window (which I always kept locked and closed) faced a small courtyard, so it was quiet The room had a single bed, a sink, and while the room was a bit dim with all the lights on, it was fine. It also had a desk with a tv with a bundle of channels. They also have a closet in which there's a safe. They also supplied clean sheets and towels. Even though the reception is only open from 9 to 11 on the weekends, telling them of my late arrival (11:20 pm), someone was there to check me in. They would like the payment upon check-in with a 20euro key deposit which is returned upon check out. Breakfast is served on the weekends from 9-11, which is sometimes inconvenient when you want to hit the popular sites. Check-in is at 2pm and check-out at 11am. you can leave luggage there during the day. They offer maps and information which is quite helpful. They also have a little cat which runs around the reception/breakfast area just for morning exercise! I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, and while most websites require a 3 night stay, I booked the hotel using a VERY useful website where an operator will chat with you online and answer any questions that you might have - tries to work within your price range. http://www.hotel-bookings.nl/ Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averagePhone: + 31 (0) 20 624 28 28Directions: Leidseplein It is very close to the tram stop. When coming from Centraal Station, look to the right, past the square, for Marnixstraat (on this corner, there's an events/information office) (using lines 1,2,5; stop leidseplein).Website: www.labohemeamsterdam.com
