Clean, cozy and comfortable

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 8, 2005

A pleasant place to stay. quiet, convenient and affordable.

Unique Quality: Our room had 3 twin sized beds, table and chairs, a sink and the toilet and shower a few steps away down the hall. My bed was cozy and comfortable with a fluffy down comforter encased by a soft duvet. The hotel faces one of the many canals and is located in a quiet residential area in easy walking distance of Leidesplein, Jordaan, the Museum district and a tram stop right on the corner, as well as an outdoor flower merchant and a couple of friendly neighborhood bars. The staff was friendly and low-key. The complimentary breakfast was just right, with bread to toast, good Dutch butter, cold cuts and cheeses, coffee and tea.

Stay in the Attic!

by written on January 2, 2005

Small hotel in an 18th century canal house. Best to book early… we tried to get the attic room, as it seemed romantic for our honeymoon. Unfortunately it was taken. Would try to get a room here if we return to Amsterdam. They have a real cool web site.

They have rooms with shared shower and rooms with private toilet and shower. Private for 2 people goes for € 85.

Unique Quality: The fact that it's in an 18th century canal house. Again the stairs are very steep.

Directions: Near Rembrandtplein

Hotel in the centre

Small hotel (only 10 rooms) situated at 4 minutes walking distance from the Rembrandtsplein, the city-centre. I was in a nice room overlooking the canal, one of the two with private facilities. But every room has a washbasin with hot and cold water, a table and chairs, a wardrobe, a radio/alarmclock. Breakfast is included. Nice atmosphere.
