on March 13, 2006I have stayed all over the city and this is my favorite. Your own houseboat in a quiet houseboat community. Located next to a large windmill about 15 minutes from the central station. The owners/hosts live in a houseboat in front of the rental boat and offer a wealth of knowledge of the city as well as added security. Shops and restaurants located a short walk away. Trams and buses the same. Fully furnished with kitchen and all utensils. Coffee and tea already in the kitchen. Why stay in a hotel when you can stay on a houseboat for the same money? Comfortable and quiet. No other tourists around.
Great canal view from the windows and plenty of ducks to feed and sometimes swans. Parking is available in front for a moderate fee. Nice family atmosphere.
