    B & B right on Leidsestraat!

Welcomed by Marcel himself, he made me feel immediately at home and comfortable. His canal house turned B & B is lovely, having been worked on by Marcel for many years. He has created an immaculate, comfortable experience for the enlightened traveler. No breakfast is served, but coffee and tea are always available. The rooms are very comfortably appointed. My room (the Style Room) has a very comfortable bed and a fireplace for chilly evenings. The toilet designated for my use was in the hallway and has many beautiful antiques on display in a wall case. The stairs give you a workout, Marcel has some of the best legs I've ever seen. Marcel also took time to tell me where to go and what to avoid. He insisted that I take a trip to the Keukenhof, boy was he right. It was an explosion of color in flowers and I'll never forget it. Even the bus ride to the Keukenhof was exciting. We passed fields of blooming tulips that made the ground look as though it was painted in the most vivid hues. We passed canals with little ramps from the water to the ground for the ducks! Ducks are a natural pesticide, eating their fill of snails and other nasty garden critters.

Back to Marcel's. The tram runs right down the middle of the street, the Leidseplein is a 30 second walk from the front door, Ben & Jerry's is across the street (as is a FEBO), there are several coffeeshops closeby no matter which way you walk. I love Marcel, I love his home.

Check out his website for photos of the room.

Unique Quality: The most unique quality about this B & B is Marcel himself. He is a little high strung, but he has lived a very interesting life and has some great stories to share.

Directions: Take tram 2 or 5 and get off on Prinsengracht. Walk to the middle of the block and look for 87 on a doorway between a shoarma restaurant and a clothing store. Only Marcel's logo and the 87 will tip you off.
