Here's the Eurolines Hungary link:

You might also want to investigate the Orangeways bus to Amsterdam from Budapest:

hi, welcome to VT.
You may also want to post this in the Budapest forum to see if there are any offers from that end to Amsterdam.

The cheapest option seems to be Eurolines buses. Their "Mini price" is HUF 9900 (around EUR 35), or if this ticket type is already sold out, the normal price is HUF 18990 (around EUR 67) one way. You need to change buses in Vienna.

You can also check Orangeways buses, their price is HUF 19900 (around EUR 70) one way (you can also pay in euros, but it's more expensive, as it costs EUR 90).

If you have time to book ahead a few months, and prefer a faster trip, Wizzair has flights to Eindhoven. You can find some tickets for about EUR 25, but most of them costs around EUR 40-60 one way, so the price varies greatly depending on the date. Plus you have to pay extra for checked-in luggage. Getting from Eindhoven airport to Amsterdam costs an additional EUR 20 by local bus and train, or EUR 23-26 with a direct bus.

Travel Tips for Amsterdam

Rent a bike !

by etrehumain

If there is a city in the world where it is simple to get around on a bike, it must be Amsterdam. With the studio i rented (see accomodation for more details), i had a bike i could use. Wow ! Because of it, i had a more enjoyable experience of this town. My fondest memory is me on the bike, the wind in my hair, getting lost or more trying to get lost in the beautifull streets of Amsterdam.

Relaxing by Canals and Burning Joints

by ADV27

The best thing about Amsterdam is that there is so much to do, night and day, that you never have the chance to get bored. The coffeeshops, the food, museums, sitting along the canals, red light district, the Heiniken Brewery and so much more. Wow!!! The best memory I have of A-Dam occured this last summer. I had just arrived and gotten a room. Met up with some friends and went to a little coffeeshop. While we were rollling up some joints and getting ready to burn, we began talking to a man sitting there. Before we knew it he was passing his "purro," telling us stories of when he used to run drugs and how rich he was, and then just at the climax of our being stoned, he lifted his shirt to show us where his stomach had been sliced open multiple times when 3 guys had tried to kill him in his house, he of course killed all three men. we packed up and headed of to the next coffeeshop, making sure not to laugh about the crazy situation until we had gotten around the corner.

My favourite thing about Holland and Europe in general are the people. The first thing I remember about Holland were how free the people seemed to be above us in England. They didn't to have any hangups about life or their culture. They were able to talk about any subject without being embaressed. I'll give you an example: SEX If you mention that word in England you're practically dragged off to have your mouth washed out with soap and water.
The other thing that impressed me about the dutch was when they approached me begging for money to feed thier habit or such like, if I said No Then that was the end of the matter where as in England I'm harrassed and verbally abused and criticised because I wouldn't give them any.
It's the little things like that I remember and will always be fond of. The freedom

Explore the norht-western canal area, Singel, Heren-, Keizer- and Prinsengracht, and Joordan. Still my favorite area in Amsterdam - where I would like to live if I had a chance. Stayed in squats here as a teenager. More civilized nowadays, really!
