Loved it!

I stayed in the Hotel Arrive for the duration of my trip. While the hotel is definitely no-frills, it is a perfect and affordable choice for a budget traveler. Also, as I understand it, the hotel was to be renovated.

Unique Quality: Very friendly lounge area. Pool table.

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

Quentin Arrive Hotel

by MN-Nice

My brother-in-law and I are visiting Amsterdam Feb 1-9, 2003.

What can you tell me about the Quentin Arrive Hotel?

Also, for the price, do you know of any other hotels within this same distance of Dam Square that are the same/better?

We are looking for a comfortable place to sleep on a tight budget, but with more privacy/security than a hostel.

We have made reservations for now at the Quentin Arrive Hotel because of the location and price. It is right next to Centraal Station and is supposed to be under 10 minute walk to Dam Square.

We are paying a total of 475 euro (50 euro for weekdays and 75 for weekends).

Just looked at the hotel's website (http://www.hotels.nl/amsterdam/quentinarrive/). Looks like a reasonable budget hotel, close to Central Station. You can reach the Dam Square in 10 minutes if you avoid the busy Nieuwendijk and Damrak shopping streets. If you are looking for cheaper hotels, you end up further away and you have additional cost for transportation and you loose time.

Enjoy Amsterdam, PJ
