In the middle of the party!
If you search a quite good hotel to spend the night
in the most "interesting"part of this incredible city well....this is the spot for you!! I've stayed in it three
times;nice rooms,good breakfast and,not at least,
the cheapest prices of the zone.....certainly it's not
"chic",but hey, you have chose the "red block"!!
Unique Quality: -I remember too many flies(not in the room fortunately!)
-Mind the internal steps(they are almost vertical)!
you have to be a free-climber!Expecially when you
come back from a coffee-shops tour......if you know
what I mean!
prices: € 49.00 - € 72.00 or more

Like a lot of the small hotels in central Amsterdam but it has hook ups with Indian restaurants and bars where you can get some serious discount if you want.

Hotel Vijaya
I've always wanted to stay in or near the 'red light district. I've reserved a room in the Hotel Vijaya (Oudezijd Voor burgwal) in late January and would appreciate any feedback anyone might have regarding this hotel and area.
I am a frequent traveller to A'dam (twice or three times a year). I live in midtown Manhanttan and am not easily frightened nor intimidated!
I do not often travel alone in midwinter and would also appreciate info regarding eating alone as a single man in nice restaurants. Any recommendations?
Lastly, any ideas on afterhour clubs (for dancing after 4am) gay or straight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and regards, BM.
