Schiphol used to be a place where ships sank.

Anyway is possible. Schiphol delivers many thousands of passengers each year by airplane. Thalys and EC-trains connect Amsterdam Airport with Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt and Köln (Cologne). Local trains do the same on shorter distance. By car reaching the international airport is good, but don't go into Amsterdam (you cannot park anywhere).
On my seperate Schiphol-page you will find all the answers about anything you want to know.

The Netherlands is one of the world's most prosperous countries. A politically and economically stable member of the European Union, the country ranks high in all-important standard-of-living indicators. These include life expectancy, access to modern medical facilities, educational opportunities, and public services.
Situated in the Greater Amsterdam Area, Almere is a new town with a current population of over 152,000. In the next 20 years Almere will be one of the largest municipalities in the country. A 45-minute drive to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Almere offers a variety of high quality industrial estates and office locations.
The following pages provide you with information about the business atmosphere in Almere.

Flying into Schipol is a breeze as the Amsterdam airport is a major hub for KLM/NWA. It is very easy to take a break in Amsterdam even if you have just a short stop of a few hours. If you are stuck at the airport for longer periods of time Schipol has lots of shopping, a casino but very poor, rock-hard seating with fixed armrests making it hard to sit down comfortably to relax or nap. I have never tried the 'place of worship' or the 'rent-a-bed' facilities, but I have found one area where you can actually relax, it is close to gate B8 and has really nice chaise-lounges where you can take a nap or just relax, great if you stay at the airport overnight!

"Waiting for the bus"
We stayed at the Ibis Amsterdam Airport Hotel. We had to land at the Schipol Airport because of a fuel leak on our fight back to the US from Italy.
"A view from the bus"
You can't see them but there were small ponies in the yard.
