Gerrie Kneteman, 53, one of the world's foremost cyclists, died on November 2nd 2004, here in Bergen whilst cycling. Read the full story at the link below.
There's a little anecdote to this.
One of the international news stations said he died during a winter holiday in Norway. But of course, it wasn't Bergen, Norway, but Bergen, The Netherlands.

I just love this little town....with it s ruïne church with a wall around it, the narrow streets, the shops, the atmosphere.
This is a painting I saw on the artistic market that s held every thursday in July and August
Just outisde Bergen, passed the roundabout, it s called "De Franschman" (the french).
A farm at the left sold the best ice cream, home made and natural.
And onwards we cycled, towards Egmond aan de Hoef where we wanted to visit the ruine of what once was the castle of Brederode.
