We visited the animal shelter 'Ecomare' on the west coast of the island of Texel. The shelter is well-known for harbouring young seals that have gone astray on the Dutch North Sea coast. But I liked their indoor exposition too. This was one of my favourites, the reconstructed wooly rhinoceros ...

One of many stuffed birds - we could also listen to the sounds that all these different kinds of animals produce.

There were even some Roman pottery and other antiquities to be found.

But let's not forget why we came here, it was of course to see the seals!

The sea gulls quickly grabbed their share too!
