I spent 7 nights in this hotel in November-December of 1995.

The citizenM hotel is located close to the the Schiphol Airport terminal; it's connected by a covered walkway to the Airport.
It is one of the newest hotels at the Airport with 230 rooms.
The hotel has free wireless Internet and design rooms with the latest technology.
The restaurant -CanteenM- is open 24/7.
Hotel Park Plaza is one of the newest hotels around the Schiphol Airport with 342 rooms.
It is located at the edge of a small industrial area of Lijnden, a small village known for its pumping-facility that pumps water from the Haarlemmermeer Polder into the Ringvaart circle canal.

Hotel details in my next tips.
In front of the Holland Tourist Information shop is a big board with a number of free telephone for direct connection to one of the hotels on the board. Even the Stayokay hostel is present.
You are just a pushbutton away from the receptionist of the hotel of your choice.
Excellent, friendly and hyper efficient check-in - they let me check in to my room at 10:30am and never charged me extra!
The room was huge with a nice big bed.
The restaurant was not open when I was there but meals were served in the bar. The menu was a bit restricted, but the food was good.
The breakfast buffet was a very reasonable 16 euros with plenty choice.
Well priced for its convenient location.
While I would not recommend this hotel for the average family vacation, for the business traveler, it offers all the little extras. Free shuttle bus to/from airport, 24 hr place to eat, sound resistant rooms, high speed internet access in rooms, free wireless access in lobby & bar, along with all of the normal things you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
The down side is the decor, very sparse and cold feeling. They won't even put a Christmas tree up during the holidays. The rooms, look like a cheap cabin on a cruise ship.
However the staff's warmth make up for the lack of decor. Very friendly, helpful, and multi-lingual.
If you want to take a day off and see the city, free shuttle to town run a couple of times a day.
If you wish to hang out in the hotel you can swim in the indoor pool, work out in the gym, or even have a massage. If you are lucky enough to get a room facing the back, you can watch the ships go by.
This hotel is comparable with the Formule 1 hotels in France. Small, but well equipped; good enough for a one night sleep. It used to be an ETAP hotel, but was bought by the Accor group and it has been renamed into IBIS budget. There is a genuine IBIS hotel next door.
You can use the IBIS Shuttlebus to go to the Airport terminal.
This is a quite nice hotel. As Etap is like a 1-star-hotel it is really ok, although it is new, gues they built it in 2002 or 2003.
The acces to the rooms is via a code, that you type in a keypad at the roomdoor!
Each room has a kind of kingsize-bed, with two matrasses and over that kingsize-bed the have built up another single bed. You have TV, with some international channels, radio and also departure and arrival information of the airport. You'll also find an alarm-clock somewhere built in your bed ;-)
The toilet can be found in a something like a cabinet ;-)
The sink is in the sleeping-room.
There is no air-conditioning but as you're in europe you won't miss it! ;-) Each room has a window and you pay a price per room sharing this with up to three people!
In the hotel they opend an internet-cafe, but that is not to cheap! There are also some maschines to get some candies etc. There is also a kind of dash with some information about amsterdam and you can also collect there some special offers; take some cards where it says like "A amsterdam channel cruise for EUR 10,00 instead of EUR 12,00"
Next to the reception there is the hall where you can take breakfast EUR 5,00); consisting of toasts, rolls, jam, peanut-butter,choc-cream, honey, milk, orange-juice, cereals, tea-bags and hot water and coffee.
The is a huge car park right in the front of the hotel. To get to/from the hotel by public transport you have to take the shuttle-bus to/from airport and from there with train to amsterdam-city.
All in all I can say it is a very nice easy and clean hotel!
I can recommand this hotel for aviation-spotters! ;-)
close to international airport Amsterdam Schiphol, well connected with bus-shuttle service, low fare hotel
If you decide to sleep at the Airport transfer area do some reading at the website below.
The comfort chairs in Lounge 2 on the first floor.
This hotel is located in a new business district of Schiphol, 10 minutes away from the airport by bus. There's a free shuttle bus to and from the airport every half an hour. Make sure to be in front of the hotel early at peak times, sometimes all seats in the bus are taken and you have to wait for the next one. Especially at weekends it's hard to get away from the hotel otherwise.
The hotel seems to be rather new. I was mighty impressed with the stylish lobby and the comfy rooms and beds.
In 2006 I stayed in another nice airport hotel, the NH. You can read about it on my Hoofddorp page.
This hotel is probably the nicest I have ever stayed in. It's got **** stars but offers good rates if you are lucky. We paid just 70 € for a double room (excluding breakfast).
Using the very stylish wellness area (with sauna, solarium, fitness centre and a pool which unfortunately was a bit too cold) is included in this price.
Internet usage is free as well, there's a small internet cafe near the reception.
The last hotel I will mention here is the IBIS. This hotel-chain is also to be found in many European and intercontinental spots. They offer good price though again above average. The Netherlands is already expensive in hotels, this area is one of the most expensive within our country.
With the next URL you can go to a website where more hotels are offered in and around Schiphol:
This chain of hotels and motels is widely spread through Europe and offers simple stays. The DeLuxe-variant at Schiphol Airport is above average and a shuttlebuss brings you to and from the terminal of the airport. Hoofddorp is a very new town that lays opposit the freeway, just South-West of Schiphol. Prices here to are above average, but getting more in the lower class of this area in The Netherlands.
The Mercure hotel chain has many hotels in The Netherlands and are of very good name. Again a shuttlebus will transport you and your luggage to the frontdoor and the next day (if necessary later) back to the terminal.
The Marriot offers shuttlebusses that bring you to the hotel in a blink. The building is on the airport, but not on a place that you swiftly can walk to. Still an excellent place to stay, expensive, but not as much as the two mentioned before!
