The Theaterhotel Almelo is part of the Van der Valk group. The hotel has 196 rooms in four types (from economy to rooftop suites). The in-house theater has 850 seats. The theater was known as "De Hagen" theater, that became to costly for the city council and was sold to the Van der Valk group, with the condition a hotel was permitted to be constructed.
The hitel also has rooms for business and congresses.
Furthermore there are a number of restaurants:

Most people who stay in this hotel are staying here because of the "free"entertainment included. If you spend the night in this hotel you have free access to the swimming pool, bowling, midget-golf, karaoke, etd and you can eat and drink as much as you like.

Now on to the other end of the accomodation scale............there are the new and ultra expensive appartments in the port of Almelo!
Having said that you'll probably accuse of a certain undertone in my story. Nothing is further from the truth!!!
My point is simply that the homeless are begging for somewhere to stay overnight in the cold winter in Almelo. However objections have been made to the council in regards to the (temporary) placing of a few containers to accomodate these unloved citicens. They are after all people.............
Fantastic views, private escalators, hot and cold runnung water and so on and so on....
A bench in one of the many pedestrian walks is by far the cheapest kind of accomodation you can find in Almelo town. You're sure to meet lots and lots of colourful local celebraties. Share a beer with them and they'll let you have their favourite bench for the night..............
Great views of the local population doing their shopping, especially on a Thursday or Saturday when it's market day...........
