Bed and Breakfasts: At home in Giethoorn
I have not stayed at any of these B&B's but I thought a list would be useful.
I always stay with a friend in Meppel, which is about 15 minutes from Giethoorn.
Though 25+ years ago I did stay in the mill which is now the Tourist Information office.

't Schuurtje 't Zwaantje: Get yourself a house
Why to rent a hotel room if it's possible to rent a little house for a cheaper price? And this is exactly what we did.
This, private, little house has 2 floors. The first floor is a kitchen and a badroom. I know it's strange, but it was ok. The second floor is a large living room with a sofa, coffee table and TV. The shower is located on the same floor. Het Schuurtje is equipped with everything you need. All you'll have to bring with you is the cleanning stuff since you'll have to clean the house when you leave (unless you want to pay 60 Euro for it). It is possible to get bed sheets too, but I'd siggest you to bring your own. And don't forget towels. For 207 Euro (in mid June) we spent there 4 days. If the house is left clean you'll get 50 Euro back. The owners are really nice, very helpfull and friendly.
Unique Quality: Het schuurtje is located in a quiet residential area in the middle of the town, behind the beautiful building of the old city hall. Being a guest at Het Schuurtje you'll recieve 5% discount when renting a whisper boat, only if you do it at the location by the restaurant 't Zwaantje.
The reservation is including 2 bikes with route maps.
It is also a perfect place for a family with up to 2 kids, since the house has additional two twin beds.
Not everything is perfect there though. During the hot Summer days you'll be fighting little spiders that are placing their webs all over the house. So if you suffer from arachnophobia find some other place to stay in. Although I can assure you, during the summer spiders are everywhere in the Netherlands no matter how often you clean your house

Haven't got a clue!: Heaven on earth!!!
This house at the lake can only be reached by boat. It's on an island in "Bovenwijde" Lake. One of the many lakes near Giethoorn.
It is only 1 meter deep! This house is for rent!
I, personally, like to buy the place, but it's not for sale!
If I kind find the correct telephonenr. again I'll give it to ya!
