Basic comfortable hotel

At 57 euro plus city tax of 3 euro for single bed and breakfast this was good value. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Breakfast was basic but good. The hotel is 500m from the back exit of the rail station at the Beatrix Theatre. There is a bus no 1 across the main road from station in Croeselann. Fare was 1 euro 60 in 2011. The hotel is at road junction Balijelaan. Just one point the stairs are a bit steep but have handrails In the picture the traffic is coming from the direction of the station in Croeselann.

Arriving by motorhome

by Wikisnoodle

Suggestions please for arriving by motorhome (6.7mL; 3.1mH), on a Thursday in April, coming from Woerden area. Would it be best for me to park up well away from the centre? If so, any suggestions? Are there water taxis on canals? Public transport? Ideal for biking in? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't know what you are planning after Utrecht, but perhaps it is an idea to travel to the city by train from Woerden. central Sation is located in downtown Utrecht.

Thanks for the swift response. That's something I hadn't thought of! We plan to travel on to the Amersfoort and Baarn area, perhaps we could park up near a station East of the city and use the train. Or, if we could find a suitable motorhome parking bay reasonably close to the centre, we could bike in.

Try Parking at the South of the Station at one of the open air parking areas of the Jaarbeurs.

No water taxis, but there is a canal boat tour; see:
http://www.schuttevaer.com/rondvaart/rondvaart.php

If you have your bicycles with you; use them. The best option to tour around at downtown Utrecht.

I've googled Jaarbeurs and it looks ideal on the satellite 'map' - thanks for the suggestion.

my girlfriend Leny lived here a few years and i visited many times, also many regions around Utrecht. Many great places to visit at Utrecht, one of them is the 'Domtower'.
Arie Abbenes is city carillonneur of Utrecht, Eindhoven, Asten and Oirschot. He teaches the carillon at the Utrecht School of the Arts (The Netherlands Carillon School). As a guest recita-list and carillon consultant he is in great demand, and his playing is featured regularly on radio and TV.

Visit the province Utrecht, the smallest in the NL. Many different landscapes, villages, cities, and lots of castles. Cycle along the Vecht river, the Dutch Loire, with its many castles and stately homes.

Very popular cafe/ restaurant/ (with vegetarian/international cuisine!) and also nightlife/music/dancing venue on Oude Gracht, with those well known Grecian? columns.

Ledig Erf

by Mique

People refer to this location as Ledig Erf. One of the cafe's is indeed called 't Ledig Erf, the other is called De Poort. Both serve lunch and dinners. And you will have some difficulty spotting tourists here..

Location: end of the Twijstraat/Tolsteegbrug
