Noordzee Residence De Banjaard: Close to the beach

Nice and new holiday homes, designed like beach houses in the USA, many different styles. Lovely lokation directly at the dunes and beach.

Hotel Bos & Duin, Oostkappelle: Not great, but o.k.

We stayed there for three nights. The building itself has the charme of the sixties, but the rooms are what you can expect in 2005.
It was very quiet and the beds are comfortable, so we`ve slept very well.
The breakfast was included, but a bit poor.

All in all it wasn`t great, but o.k.

De zeeuwse Stromen: Hotel The Zeeuwse stromen

De Zeeuwse Stromen, is quite isulated. It is about half a mile outside the village, very close to the dunes, the beach, and the sea. You will soon find out that the beach is within an easy 5 minute walk from your hotel room.

The hotel offers plenty of facilities to relax and leisure, including an indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool, and a sauna, which are all free for hotel guests. Furthermore, the hotel has 30 bikes available for its guests, which can be reserved at the reception for up to 3 hours without charges. This is very convenient: the so-called "West-Hoek", that is, the surroundings of Renesse and Burgh-Haamstede, another village behind the dunes closeby, is best explored by foot or by bike.

KASTEEL WESTHOVE: YOUTH HOSTEL IN A REAL CASTLE

A real CASTLE.......and in this castle is a most lovely youth hostel (118 beds!) and not only that: in another WING of the castle is the ZEEUWS BIOLOGISCH MUSEUM: which is really worthy of your visit!

Staying here is killing more than 2 birds with one stone: the nice youth hostel, the museum and.....its location in the dunes near the SEA / BEACH

Who wouldn't love staying here??

Slot Moermond: Sleep in a castle

Slot Moermond is an 13th century castle, where nowadays you can sleep, have weddings and so on. There are about 34 rooms, and one specially for the weddingcouple.

Opened during: Easter, Heavendag and from Juni till September.

Q: oysters "I have heard that you can catch your own oysters on the beach and eat them in Zeeland. Is this true? We are not overly fussed..."

A: "I would visit one of the following villages: Bruinisse, Yerseke, Veere or Sluis. The first 2 are fishing towns; the latter 2 have the better restaurants. PJ"
