Middelburg, capitol of Zeeland
by Pavlik_NL
The capitol of Zeeland is Middelburg. This historical town has kept it's charme and the highlight of that is surely the cityhall on the central Marketsquare. The Gothic building holds many little details and is truely a work of architectural beauty. The town has a very cosy area in the centre, where colourful canalhouses reflect in the water of the canals. On various lokations sailingships have anchored to stay a while in Middelburg. In the town is also Miniature-park, an intresting scale-model of the surrounding region 'Walcheren'. Direct south of the capitol is the main harbour of Zeeland 'Vlissingen' (in English Flushing). From here you can take the foot/bicycle-ferry to "Zeeuws Vlaanderen" (Zeeland's Flandres), a Dutch enclave in Belgium where the harbourterrains of Terneuzen are.
Nice place in S.Netherlands
by Luchonda
A nice romantic location, not that far from Middelburg, a place in Sealand The environment, the coast, the many typical shops and monuments.
Just strolling around on a lazy sunday afternoon, before the touristic peak season
Bring some money
by OlafS
In today's modern society you'd expect to be able to get money "from the wall" everywhere. So did I. But no matter how much I searched for a money dispenser (I forgot the English name for those), I couldn't find one. That left me with not enough money to visit the big church.
Lovely Veere
by Monique_T
We had never been to Veere before but we had heard it is a lovely place. And it sure is. It is not very big, you can't spend two days there (well, ofcourse you can but won't see anything new then). It is a lovely village with old buildings, nice streets, nice harbour, relax in one of the pubs and have a drink there, or just have a look around in all the shops.
Little street
by ATLC
Beside the town hall is a little street with just a very few houses and big walled gardens.
Friends live in this street but as they weren't home I bought a slade and old fashionedly scribbled a message, had it wrapped and dropped it in their mailbox.
I'm waiting for their phonecall!
