"... for a walk along the beach"
For a nice walk along the beach I travel by bus from leiden to Katwijk and then walk towards Noordwijk. About 5 km, and beautiful in every season. The shoreline sometimes yields interesting fnds, and I always bring my camera hoping to get some good photo's.

When I want to see the coast by bike I usually go to Katwijk and take the path between the dunes to Noordwijk. Always beautifull, although it can be very busy in summer.
Unfortunately this is only a short stretch in this tour, and the rest of the route is not that interesting. I do prefer the walk to appreciate the landscape.

Just recently I discovered thet there is a cruise through "het groene hart" (the green heart) leaving from Katwijk.
I thought it would be a nice way to celebrate my birthday with some relatives last Sunday, May 11 (a bit early, my birthday is on the 15th). It was a wonderful day, very sunny, great to be on the water.
It was amazing to see the landscape from a different perspective. I am pretty familiar with the surroundings, saw most of it by bike, but this was a whole new experience.
