my stay at the de doelen hotel was uneventful ,the room was small but clean with a telly and BBC1 so no problems there,
a shower and telephone too,more than suitable for one person on a short break who wants honest accomadation.

breakfast is more than plentyful,with a choice of cereal,tea,coffee,fruit juice,plenty of different bread to try,cold meats,yogurts of various flavours,and of course toast and butter,so getting a good breakfast is no problem,eat up for the day ahead.

the hotel is said to be one of the oldest around,it's location is very good,a matter of minutes walk from Leiden Centraal train station,and a stones throw from two cinemas and the town centre,so walking around the whole city is quite possible if you felt the need.

the hotel owners/staff are more than capable of speaking english so no real problems in communication,europeans tend to be able to speak three or four languages,swopping as required one to the next.
