Upper Class Hotel
The Rotterdam Hiltion Hotel is modern high class hotel located at the heart of the town at the Hofplein.
Most major Rotterdam shops, attracions and business are close by.
In the 1970's the hotel building was the highest one downtown and the City Counsil stopped many initaitive to build higher buildings. That ruling was changed and Rotterdam quickly became "Manhattan at the Maas".

good place
Typical Hilton product, and hard to fault so long as you can pay!
It was reasonably convenient both for the railway station and my meeting.
I was there about 1991, so don't take this as state of the art advice (can't imagine the station will have moved, however)

Rotterdam Hilton page 4 (last)
OK to finish up on the Hilton.
It is in a good location (see link in 1st page of tips) on the corner of Weena and Coolsingel (the main Street in Rotterdam). The railway station is approx 7 minutes walk (with luggage) from the hotel and the bus from the Airport currently (there is a lot of construction work currently around the station and I don't know if some of this information may change when this is completed) drops you off in front of the Westin hotel directly opposite the station.
There are Metro and Tram stops literally on the hotels doorstep and the tourist information office is also literally next door to the hotel - all in all a very good location.
I would have no hesitation in staying here again especially if I could get a good rate in an exec room.
Unique Quality: A point worth noting is that Hilton do have cheaper rates when booking well in advance - these rates are generally non refundable or changeable but can offer good value.

Okay on my last pic you can see the large bed and no shortage of pillows :-) and another view of that oh so comfy armchair.
One negative comment I would make is that the room is quite dark - they could do with more/brighter lights - though this should hardly be a deciding factor as to whether to stay here or not.
A good benefit of staying in an exec room is that it gets you access to the club room on the 1st floor - this is a little like an exec lounge at an airport with the following features/benefits:
* Free soft/alcoholic drinks (time restrictions on the alcoholic drinks) inc coffee - a rather scrummy cappuccino is one of the options and you can even get a coffee to take up to your room.
* Free snacks (crisps/nuts etc)
* a nice quiet oasis away from everything to relax and unwind in. - very comfortable seating, books, papers, magazines etc.
* a host/hostess who can also deal with things like checking out, advice on where to eat, public transport etc
* free internet access
* you can have breakfast here away from the main breakfast area - more intimate and peaceful.
I have to say this was a benefit that I VERY much appreciated and if you can get a good rate for an exec room I would recommend going for one
Unique Quality: The standard of service I received throughout my stay was excellent including an early check in (3 hours before the normal check in time !!) and I would thoroughly recommend this property on the basis of the service received.

In this picture you can see the work desk, TV , clothes storage (also a safe operated by pin number or credit card) and wardrobe (complete with iron and ironing board).
The TV has many channels and in house movies (rates are rather on the high side for the paid for movies). There is also a play station controller and you can play games on the TV (again there is a charge for this).
You get 2 bottles of spring water every day (one sparkling one still) which I thought was a nice touch as well as tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities.
There is air conditioning that is individually controlable and all in all the room was very comfortable and not lacking in anything

OK the Hilton seems to receive mixed reviews on trip advisor with quite a few negative saying that it needs a refurb, looks 70's etc.
Well I stayed in an Exec room (which I was advised by the hotel have been refurbed) so my comments are based on my experiences in an Exec room - standard rooms may not be to the same standard.
OK so to start with a note on size - the room was a nice size with plenty of room to move around and chill out in - see attached picture. In addition to the large double bed there was a very comfy armchair with a little stool to rest your legs on (I almost fell asleep in this on the Saturday after my visit to Delft - very comfy :-) )
As you will see in the picture there was also a work desk (which also had connections for the internet)

LUXURY HOTEL......
Here I have to tell you what I see in the brochure I got there........to stay there is a bit too much of a good thing for me.....
