by Mique
Sorry guys, you missed this awesome event. But June next year you have a new chance..
Parkpop is held every year in the Zuiderpark in Den Haag. Normally in june but is has happened to be occasionally in july. It has been held for over 20 years and still is so much fun. Lots of known and unkown artists and bands show up for this festival.
site: www.parkpop.nl
As always there will be the normal 3 stages. 2 more or less pop/rock stages and a dance-stage.
And there is also a 'locals only' stage with emerging bands from the Netherlands.

Indonesian Embassy
by RoyJava
The Indonesian Embassy at The Hague reminds me of my very first official exhibition a few years ago. Painting a Javanese legendary subject (the Spirit-queen of the Southern Ocean) it was an honour to show the paintings all together on "Indonesian" territory, in the Gallery Nusantara Room. 4 Dutch Artists expressed their passion for Indonesia, each with their own vision, style and interpretation.
"FASCINATING INDONESIA" was a unique exhibition indeed ... The Indonesian Embassy is known as "The Villa", and is founded from high architectural interest ... the area is a reposeful place not that far from the center and close to Laan van Meerdervoort. It is located in The Hague at

Delicious Java Food
by RoyJava
Actually this topic had to be placed at "Restaurants", but I donot want to fool you. This is about "Babi Guling", the originally roasted "sucking-pig" on charcoal. It is famous from Javanese Gianyar, and on Bali it is served, too. When never tried before you have to attempt ... for once in your life time ... So ... this was a private happening, because of the opening of a house. And the presentation of one of my paintings! The Lady of the House prepared the Babi Guling in a wonderful, original way, just like on Java and Bali. Fresh ginger, cloves, asem (tamarind), garlics, turmeric, nutmegs, sereh (lemon grass), trasi (dried shrimp pasta), cardamoms, lombok (chili pepper), onions, black peppercorns, salt, pepper, sugar... all she had added, so a BRAVO for this party food time, and such a wonderful memory !!!
I could not keep back this pic from you ... :)))

Also the 2004 September year’s Kite Festival was a sunny happening. Scheveningen has organized the Kite Festival for the past 26 years.
