The Hague municipality
by OlafS
The Hague is actually bigger than the actual city itself. To its north, and practically attached to it, is Scheveningen, once a fishing village, now popular for its beach. VT lists it as a seperate place, and not without good reason. In the west of the city is the former village of Loosduinen.
Dunes
by Mique
Take a walk through the dunes or over the beach along the side of Den Haag to Kijkduin. It is a very nice stretch of beach and the 3 kilometers is just enough to justify the coffee i always promised myself. And then of course back through the dunes The fact that i could do this anytime i felt like it...
Willem van Oranje-Nassau

As I already mentioned, statues of William the silent can be found in many cities in the Netherlands. Since he played a very important role in formation of Holland you will probably hear this name many times while visiting, especially, the Royal City The Hague. This statue can be found on the square "het plein" infront of the old City Hall.
BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE
by RoyJava
When I entered The Hague after my Switzerland adventure for one year it took a little while to get used to the The Hague people. Amsterdam is cool, Rotterdam is hot, Utrecht is multifarious, though The Hague is multiracial in the way of multidinous in one. And the unity does not concern the variety of its people in The Hague. Fortunately I got addicted to The Hagues way of life and its marvelous multicultural inhabitants, its many visitors, and its royal color. Ofcourse its blue sky and its golden beach took care of being fond of this royal, governmental city with its ancient name of 's-Gravenhage ... which is a festival to live in!
THANKS THE HAGUE
Prinsjesdag-Day Of The Little Prince
by RoyJava
A glamorous one: The Opening Of The New Parliamentary Year - Prinsjesdag
Every 3rd Tuesday in September a lot of people come to see H.M. Queen Beatrix for the national annual address, that will be make at Knights' Hall. This is the historical event of the Queens' "Troonrede" (Speech of Throne). In 2004 it was held on Tuesday, 21 September, in 2006 on Tuesday, September 20. The Royal Family will drive up to the Binnenhof in the famous Golden Coach, where the Queen will officially open the new parliamentary year with the address from the throne (Queen's Speech). A majestic moment in The Hague, named "Prinsjesdag" (Day of the little prince)!
The center of The Hague will be very crowded for that day, even when it's raining. Along the road where the Golden Carriage is driving, all the houses and appartments look over-crowded with interested people, friends, journalists and other guests. Mostly all coming out of The Hague ... for the foto-shoot of their live (that close the processon will pass!), to show The Hague-people afterwards, included me ... ;-)
What finally succeeded on September 19, 2006!!! Hooray!
And September 18, 2007, I will be there again!
The Binnenhof & Knigth's Hall will be closed to the public during the opening of the new parliamentary year.
