Very nice

Superior service and a great staff. Breakfast included was an unexpected surprise. Very clean and orderly. All spoke English well. Rooms included a built in small refrigerator and a small safe. Closet space was lacking but not many have to pack for a 6 wek stay. Wireless internet is available for a fee, but the wired (with Ethernet cable) is no charge. If you forget your cable, they will sell you one there. One of the nicest and most pleasant hotels that I have stayed in my travels. This stay lasted just less than 4 weeks and I can not think of a negative experience to write about the hotel

Unique Quality: Tram stop is nearly in front of the hotel. Next door to the Theater and great shopping. Central location makes getting to anywhere easy. Just a few blocks from the Central Station.

Central Location

The Hotel Mercure is about the same distance from the Centraal Station as from the Holland Spoor Station. In either case it’s about 10 minutes of brisk walking. Twice, I’ve been on the west side overlooking the new stadhuis (see picture) and once I was looking towards the less glamorous east direction. The hotel is reasonably upscale and charges accordingly. The location is excellent though, so I always check the web to see if I can find a deal for this hotel. Beds are reasonably sized as are the bathrooms, though the overall room size seems small for the price.

Exhibition Time

The ****Mercure Den Haag Central Hotel is situated in the bustling heart of the residency near the new Town Hall and the Theatre of Performing Arts. And in the immediate vicinity of the busy shopping center. The Hotel is within short walking distance of the Central Station. Great activities around, including theatre, cinema and marvelous shopping area. And all within walking distance!

All ac-rooms include facilities like a safe box, tv (satellite), alarm clock radio, mini bar, excellent furnished bathroom etc. Enjoy a drink in the Pullman Bar (with life music), have a light or snack or a coffee. There is a lot of space in the underground parking place, however the hotel is right in the centre and easy to reach by public transport.

Unique Quality: Staying at the Mercure for a The Hague guy is more or less a little present. I got lucky to speak about my experience of the Indonesian culture during exhibition of Frans Erkelens & Betty Giltay (in one of the meeting-rooms). The Embassy of Indonesia also was represented at the opening. The unveiling of the exhibition had been performed by Romanita Santoso and Joke Kusumanto (who danced the "Serimpi Padelori" in Yogy-style). A wonderful experience ...
