Scandic Asker: Central, but not the prettiest location
By shimi on October 18, 2006
Scandic Hotel is probably a decent hotel, I have not stayed there myself, but I've been there a few times of other reasons. From the touristical point of view this is not really an interesting hotel to stay in in my opinion, though, unless you're on your way and need a place to stay that is central and convenient with transportation in mind. This hotel is right next to (and I mean that literally) the highway (E18) south-west from Oslo, approximately a 3 minute walk from the centre of Asker with the airport express train to OSL Gardermoen airport, train and bus station. The centre is not particularly interesting in itself, and other places of interest can be reached from other points in town as well. This hotel hosts a lot of ccourses and onferences, and in the summer there are often buses with tourists on guided tours in Norway that stay overnight here.
