Where to sleep in Bergen
by saip12
Hi,
we are arriving to Bergen by train in late night. Is there any option where to sleep in some calm area (a bit far from people and houses-like a park). If you have any good advice pleas help me.
Thanks much
saip

Then you would have to travel out of Bergen like near the airport. But Bergen is a relative quiet town (not big), so staying in town isn't bad at all. Since you are arriving by train, I suggest the closest hotel next to the station, the Hotel Terminus. The area is relative calm.

As an alternative I suggest the Hotel Admiral at a quiet area of the harbour

Or back from the waterfront, the Hordaheimen:

A small and cosy hotel, but the site isn't in English I'm afraid

Thank you very much for your help. But I rather mean sleeping in a tent somewhere in cozy park than in hotel, because of late arrival. Anyway if you could tell me where is the suitable place for outdoor sleeping in Bergen let me know.
thanks

Well that is a problem, as the nearest place to the centre were you can camp is some ways out of Bergen at Lone Camping. The cheapest alternative and near the station would be the hostel Marken Gjestehus. Beds per person is NOK 185,-
You can check in as late as 11pm if you come before the end of August. Alternative you can check in with a credit-card when pre-appointed:

The city between the seven mountains
by daarth
I will be re-modeling these pages to fit the new VT....
Bergen is known as "The city between the seven mountains", and "gateway to the fjords". We don’t have tall mountains like the Alps, but nothing can beat the fjords. You have to see it to believe it. It’s like seeing the Grand Canyon on a picture and actually being there. It’s not the same. Just to make a point; Bergen is one of the most visited ports in Europe by cruise boats. The people.

When you come to Norway and the town Bergen you find the bus on the outside of the airport.

Lunch.....

If you think the prices are high, and whant to save some for other things you can by your food at the supermakeds. Find a nice place in the park and eat your food outdoor. Bread, fruit, and cheese. But dont drink alcohol. Its not allowed. The price for something like this costs about § 11 at most places. Enjoy, and give the birds some to...
