Marken Gjestehus

It's cheap and near the station

Again, since I live in Bergen, I haven't stayed here myself, but it's a good alternative to those that need a cheap place to stay in the centre of town.

(I often get the question for cheap accommodation, and I think I prefer to recommend this one than the Montana youth Hostel. Montana might be a little cheaper, but you get the extra cost of using the bus to get back and forth to the centre of town.)

Unique Quality: Within walking distance to all facilities in the centre.
Everything is basic, but they have a reputation for being clean and tidy.

Hostel

I stayed in the Marken Gjestehus located 5 minutes or so from the city centre. The location is good and the place is ok. Good value for price.

Unique Quality: This place is good for groups or travellers that want to cook their own food as they have all the needed facilities.

I prefer to choose a hostel wen i go to Scandinavia because they are very clean and organized, so you can save some money that is never enough when you visit an expensive country like Norway.
I fond this hostel very good and good value.
I paid 33$ per night for a 4 beds dormitory room, they also have 6 beds ones for less, but if you plan to go, you better reserve quite earlier, when i left the hostel, on the 4th of Feb., they told to start to have reservations even for the next summer .
When you leave there is a 'flybussen' stop 5 mins walk far from the hostel that will take you to Flesland airport in 45 mins. for 70NOK., if this is the airport that you want.

Unique Quality: Only 5 mins. walk from the city center, easy to reach from the train or bus station, 12km. far from Flesland airport.
