Uppheim Farm B&B: Excellent B&B Above Ulvik

Experiences like this make travel worthwhile. Being able to stay with a Norwegian family as guests in their house better helps you get in touch with the culture. And, oh by the way, you save money, too. Uppheim Farm fits the bill perfectly.

While not conveniently located for those without a car, the Uppheims were very helpful in getting us in and out of town when we needed to. The house itself was lovely, with great views, a full kitchen, two adorable cats, and an informative description and sampling of various Norwegian breakfast foods. Try the "gamelost" and see if you like it. I preferred the geitost and cloudberry jam myself.

Accommodation can be made for up to 6 people. Rates for 2006 per night, breakfast included: NOK 650 for 1 person, NOK 800 for a double, NOK 1125 for 3, NOK 1500 for 4, NOK1875 for 5, and NOK 2250 for 6. Weekly rates are also available (breakfast not included).
