The College
A lot of life in Volda is centered around the college. Høgskulen i Volda houses many excellent academic programs. The cafeteria (open during the school year) is a good place for a reasonable bite to eat. Stop by!

Be prepared for winter. Usually lots of snow in the area during February.
Have a great time!

A newly improved path featuring integrated ropes makes climbing Rotsethornet a good choice for a sporty family on a clear day. Start early and enjoy the day. No special climbing equipment is needed but bring enough food and drink for the daylong (if with children) trip up and down.
Volda is a small college town about an hour and 45 minutes south of Ålesund. Volda is home to Høgskulen i Volda, a hospital, a Rolls Royce and Scana factory. The town is unusual in that it is on a lake and a fjord. Volda makes a nice base for exploring hiking and outdoor activities in the Sunnmøre Alps.
