The Breidablikk Gjestehus (a.k.a. Breidablikk Gjestgiveri) is a pleasant, inexpensive place to stay. The common room and breakfast room look downhill over the town and fjord -- very nice views, even on a cloudy day.

The room itself was rather small, with "I Love Lucy" style double beds -- a minor annoyance. The view from the room was excellent. There was a sink in the room, but shower and WC were down the hall. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very nice buffet breakfast.

UPDATE: The Guesthouse has apparently gone through a major renovation recently. The good news: every room now has its own shower/WC. The bad news: significantly increased prices. As of June 2008, a double room costs Kr 1,075 (vs. Kr 560 when we stayed here in June 2006), while a single room costs Kr 885 (vs. Kr 435 in June 2006).

Dorm rooms are no longer available, but family rooms cost Kr 340 per person (up to 6 per room). Breakfast is now included. Baggage storage may still be available in a locked, enclosed storage area on the front porch (call or email to confirm). Major credit cards accepted.
