Places to stay in Svolvaer

Hi,
I'm trying to find a place to stay in Svolvaer toward the end of May that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. Any suggestions?

I have never been to Svolvaer but thought I would try to contribute a little information. I assume you have seen the official Svolvaer net portal with overnighting possibilities starting around 1200kr.
There is a youth hostel (you don't have to be a youth) in Å with rooms for about half that price. There are other Lofoten hostels as well. Check out the www.hihostels.no page.

A 'crowded and hectical' place ?!?

After several days on the Lofoten I decided that a visit here without having seen Svolvaer would not be complete. Up to now I only stayed in the nature where very rarely people are seen, so my short visit to Svolvaer was like diving into another world. Even though it is a calm town, to me it seemed to be a really busy place with a lot of people. Well, I was convinced that my holiday was going to be a success.
I parked my car close to the harbour and started a walk through town. Svolvaer is a clean modern town and the cultural center of the Lofoten. You will find several restaurants and shops here as well as hotels. Surrounded by mountains on one side and the ocean on the other I think it is one of the most beautiful located towns I have been to.
