Hotel City: Good hotel in the center

One of the two twins hotel in Fredrikstad is Hotel City (the other one Hotel Victoria). It's situated in the city center, along the biggest street in the city, and around the corner from the big shopping street.

Very nice hotel, with big rooms, two restaurants, one pub and a night club (as written on the frontpage, don't come here on a Sunday evening and assume there will be any party, at all... It's totally off).

The room I got was a single, but big enough for being a double. The bed was very nice and big. TV on the room (for a while thought there was a free porn channel, but realised some seconds later that I was watching Paris Hilton's music video... ;) ), internet access (100 NKR for 4 hours, 150 NKR for 12 hours, 200 NRK for 24 hours) and minibar (35 NRK for a small mini-beer, I hate Norway...)

Nice and big bathroom, with a bath tub and Björn Borg-soap.

Breakfast in the morning was very nice, with a lot to chose from. Müsli with milk, bread, egg, sausages, ham, bacon, 2-3 different juices, tea, coffe, chocolat and more.

There was a sauna on the third floor, and some big conference rooms.

Negative was that the elevator was out-of-order, so I had to climb up the stairs for my room on the sixth floor. There was another elevator further away, but then I got up far from the room instead.

It's a quite expensive hotel, I paid around 100 euro for my single room, plus 13 euro for the parking (1 day) and then another 15,50 for 12 hours with internet. Worth it, since the newspaper paid. But I wouldn't pay that myself.
