The hotel is fairly expensive, expect to pay from ca 1000 NOK and upwards for a double room. Our twin room was kind of smallish, and a bit dark - but it was clean, it had all the usual amenities and it would have been comfy enough if it wasn't for one major problem: the room was extremely hot and stuffy. There's no air con in the hotel, but that's something that very rarely would be an issue in Norway (this country isn't exactly known for tropical temperatures;o) - and this wasn't a particularly warm day (20C at most) - so there shouldn't be a reason for the almost-boiling room temperature. The room was just *nothing special*, really - I was somewhat disappointed, as I expected more from this hotel. (The Clarion Collection hotels tend to be quite nice!)
Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel, free of charge (pick up an access code from the reception) - and the connection was fast and reliable. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the hotel. An evening meal is included in the price - we arrived too late to check it out, but I'm guessing that it's much the same as in other Clarion Collection hotels: a buffet with one hot dish, and salads, cheese, bread, fruit. Also try the yummy Norwegian waffles (more about those in the "restaurant" tips on my Norway page;o) - available every afternoon, free of charge. The buffet breakfast was quite good - as is to be expected in Scandinavian hotels of this price range. Again, a nice opportunity to try some Norwegian specialties - such as brown cheese (brunost) and kaviar. (More on my Norway page!)
A quite nice (and rather expensive) hotel - but I can only recommend staying at Clarion Collection Hotel Hammer on chilly days (!).
